The Unicorn Center, Inc., an animal-based therapy and recreation organization, is dedicated to serving those with special needs in a safe, positive learning environment. We serve children and adults with learning disabilities, emotional disorders, physical disabilities, as well as at-risk youth and the elderly, pairing each participant with a loving animal. Our four-legged “therapists” include horses, ponies, and miniature equines.

Relying solely on donations for funding, The Center is currently run by an Executive Board, and a small, non-paid staff. Through the generous support of a local landowner, we are able to operate at a beautiful farm with excellent facilities. We also provide a mobile outreach unit, that can travel to schools, nursing homes and locations away from the farm, and provide a valuable educational and therapeutic experience to those who would otherwise be unable to visit our loving creatures.

However, with the continued generous support of the community and local business owners, The Center hopes to expand its services to include in-door activity space for after-school programs, as well as a day-camp facility for summer activities for children and teens.
